Wellingtonian Sanjiv Jetly will represent New Zealand at the Toastmasters International speech contest in Canada in August. He will be competing for the title of "World Champion of Public Speaking" during Toastmasters’ annual International Convention in Calgary, Alberta on 13-16 August.

An enthusiastic toastmaster Mr Jetly says he is excited by the opportunity to have his public speaking skills tested on the international stage.

Mr Jetly qualified by winning the NZ International Speech Contest at the recent Toastmaster New Zealand Awards held in Rotorua. He gave a motivational speech on the subject of keeping a positive attitude.

This is a significant achievement for Mr Jetly, considering the experience of the 7 other competitors, that he has been a member for 2 years and this was the first District conference he had attended.

The club congratulates Mr Jetly on his achievement, and thanks him for the time and effort he put into representing our club.

Mr Jetly's achievement demonstrates the high standards and quality programme on offer at the Business Breakfast Toastmasters club.

New Zealanders have twice won the world title - Brett Rutledge (1998) and David Nottage (1996), both of Auckland.
